Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21, 1983) is an acclaimed American actor. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio, dropped out of high school in order to move in Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. She was struggling to make ends meet when she got her first acting role as Rachel's Room's leading character. She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit older that Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens She appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her sister in Donnie Darko the cult classic. She also was featured as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the love story Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008).
